Introduction to the Beginners A1 Spanish course

This course provides a comprehensive grammatical foundation for absolute beginners of Spanish. It can also be used by students who feel they have forgotten most of the Spanish they learned in the past and wish to start again.

The program provides clear instruction for those wanting to start speaking and writing basic Spanish with a focus on high-frequency language used in daily life. The conversational skills covered include:

  • Introducing yourself
  • Asking directions
  • Talking about numbers
  • Talking about dates
  • Answering basic questions about your life
  • Making simple requests
  • Expressing personal likes and dislikes
  • Expressing basic opinions

You will also learn the Spanish alphabet and basic vocabulary.

Please note that the purchase of the textbook is optional, though recommended to get the most out of the course. Additional learning materials will be provided in class.

The first module focuses on getting started with Spanish. We look at the alphabet, pronunciation rules, numbers, nationalities, introductions, and how to ask questions when you don’t know what something means.
